We have a very enthusiastic group of Sports Council representatives from our P7 year group. They want to make a difference to Physical Activity in school and have many great ideas for the academic year ahead. All of the children have a passion for a variety of sports, and they want everyone to realise the importance and benefits it can have on your health and lifestyle.

All of the successful representatives completed application forms describing their reasons for wanting to be a part of the Sports Council. Many of them pointing to wanting to see children throughout school having fun and making friends through being active.

At our first meeting the group discussed many great ideas for the school year ahead. They wanted to have Give it a try days for specific year groups, Fundraisers for new equipment in the playground and for PE, a new Cairnshill Integrated Sports Character Mascot competition, to promote physical activity among all Key Stage groups and they also wanted to look at some recognition award for PE in school. Watch this space to see what they can deliver throughout 2024/2025.

Our Sports Council are very enthusiastic, and I look forward to seeing the difference they can make in our school, as we aim to get every child involved in being active.
